Rice Cereal, Eeyore and Blankie: The new loves of Blakes life.

This past week has gone by so fast. Blake has found a new little toy that he loves to hold and sleep with. It is the cutest little thing to see. One day when Blake was being fussy Ryan picked this stuffed Eeyore animal up and gave it to Blake and from that day on Blake has loved holding and cuddling with it. Also he has started to always want his little blue silk blankie when he goes to sleep. He pulls it up by his face and sucks his thumb until he falls asleep. I love him so much and think it is the cutest little thing ever.

He is starting to learn to do different things everyday. It is so exicting to watch him grow and learn. He is the happiest little boy. Last week he learned to roll over onto his tummy. When he finally managed to achieve this he looked surprised and then started to cry because he couldn't move.

He melts my heart everytime he smiles or laughs at me. It amazes me that he already knows who I am and when he sees me he gets all excited and kicks his legs with excitement. I never imagined life could be this wonderful. He is such a happy little boy.

This past weekend Blake's Aunt Lacey and Uncle Jared came to visit. We had so much fun with them and are so grateful for them in our lives. They are so good with Blake and we love them so much.

We have just started to feed Blake some rice ceareal. He had already decided that he didn't like it before we gave it to him. Needless to say as soon as it went in the mouth it came rushing back out. In the picture it looks like he was having a good time but the picture was taken after I had given up and he stole the spoon from me.

The dreaded spoon- need I say more? I think not!

So I had to take a video of all of this because it was so funny to watch him eat. Blake would save all the cereal in his mouth until it got to full and then in one long blow it would all come pouring out. It was so funny and he knew it. I think more cereal came out than he actually ate.

videoWell, that's all for now. Thanks for watching.

Our little Fish!

Today Blake and I went swimming for the first time. Our friends Tori and Kalob called and asked if we wanted to and I decided that it was about time to introduce Blake to the water. Now normally he loves his baths so I didn't think this would be a problem. And guess what? I was......right. Blake loved the water. He did so good and was so happy. The water felt so good in the hot hot sun.

Blake and Kalob. Pre swim

They were so cute together. Blake is almost 5 months and Kalob is 7 1/2 months.

On the way to the pool. Chillin in the stroller.

This video is Blakes first time going into the water. He did so good. He was a little confused at first but didn't mind the cool water at all. What a stud!

Blake had so much fun in the water. He was a natural. I put him on his back and he just stuck his thumb in his mouth and relaxed. He definately takes after his mom in the water.

This video is when I dunked Blake under water. I did this about five times and he didn't get mad at all. He would come up and blink a few times and then start blowing spit bubbles while the water ran out of his mouth. It was so cute to watch.

Blake did so well and it was fun to swim with him. We are definately going to do it more often.

I knew it was time to get out when Blake starteed to shiver and his lips were turning blue. We swam for about 45 minutes and he didn't fuss once until I took him out. He loved being wrapped up in a warm towel and cuddling with mommy after our swim.

My little fishy!

We had so much fun together. I love my Blakey so much.

Blake didn't want to go back home. This is him telling me that he wanted to keep swimming. We will definately have to swim a lot this summer because of the heat. It's a good thing that Blake likes the water. See ya next time.

So Lucky!

You know those days that you wake up and just feel so grateful for everything you have in your life. This morning I woke up and just started to cry. Not because I'm sad, but because my life is fillled with so many wonderful people. (I also might be a little over tired). As I sit here and try to express my feelings I cannot contain my tears. Now my life isn't perfect but each and every day it gets a litttle bit closer.

First of all, I have the most amazing husband a girl can get. He cares so much for me and would give his life for me. I love him so much and couldn't imagine a more amazing man in my life. I never had imagined my life could be like this until I married Ryan. We have a beautiful son that is such a blessing in our life. I couldn't imagine not having him in our lives. He is truly a gift from God and I don't know why I was chosen to recieve his special spirit into my live. As I write this he is sleeping peacefully in his bed. You always have to cherish those moments because as they grow older they sleep less and less. Blake is such an amazing part of my life and I could not have asked for a sweeter baby.

As I write this Ryan is at school in a interview with the Medical Advisor that is hopefully going to get him into med school. (Every med student has to have a letter of recommendation from this guy so he has to like you which thankfully he does like Ryan.) Ryan has been working so hard lately and is an amazing student. He studies so hard and still gives me the time that I need with him. (I kinda always want to be with him.) He is such a wonderful father to little Blakey poo. He loves getting up in the morning to study and to take blake and read with him on his lap. Blake loves his dad so much. When he sees his daddy he starts kicking his legs and smiling so big. I love watching the two interact together. It is one of the most touching things to see. He definately is Ryan's little buddy.

Our families are so special to us. They have helped us so much throughout our marriage. We were so happy that everyone was able to come when we blessed Blake in church. We have so much fun when we are with our families.

All in all, I feel like one of the luckiest girls in the world. I have the most amazing husband and son and the most amazing families. I am so grateful for everything I have. I think I must have done something right in my life to deserve everything that I have. I have learned to take it day by day and to get the most out of every day because if you don't, you are going to miss some very special memories.

Last of all, I am so grateful for my friends who support me and lift me up when I need it. Friends are essencial in life.

First Timer

Ok, so I never thought I would have one of these but I love reading all of my friends and thought I would give it a go. I am the least crafty and creative person so this could be a challenge and a learning experience at the same time.
So a brief overview of my family...Ryan and I got married on January 5, 2007 in the Las Vegas temple.
It was such a beautiful day. In May of 2007 we found out that I was expecting a baby. We were so happy to be starting our family. Blake Ryan West was born on February 3rd 2008. He was born on the superbowl.

Blake is now 4 1/2 months old and growing so fast.
My family lives in Logan, Utah and Ryan's live in Hawthorne, Nevada. We are still in Las Vegas for a little bit. Ryan is in Organic Chemistry this summer and is planning on applying for medical school at the end of the year. He wants to be a family practice doctor and work in a rural area. We are excited to get this process started even though that means he is studying all the time. I know he can do it though. He is the smartest person I know and I love him so much.
Well, that's all for now because Blake is crying. I hope I can keep up on this and make it not so boring. Talk to you all later.
